Yes, you heard it here first, folks. Staging can help protect your nut(s).

We are, of course, talking about nut(s) as defined by Roget's New Millennium Theasaurus: a noun;  a "posssession" and synonomous with "bankroll, capital, equity, estate, funds, goods, holdings, nest egg, reserve(s), resources, riches, stock, stake, valuables & wealth". Based upon that definition, we can also consider our home as all or part of our "nut(s)".

our largest asset

For many of us, our home is our most valuable asset and represents the largest chunk of our nut(s).

The Real Estate market is flooded right now with unsold homes. The competition to sell a home is fierce. There are hundreds of homes listed on the MLS. You can maximize your chances that your home is the one that potential buyers want to see, based upon photos of your staged home posted on the MLS. And you can maximize your chances that a potential buyer will want to purchase your home, because they have been presented with a beautiful staged home, that not only looks good and smells good, but also feels good.

  • Staged homes show better and encourage Realtors to show that home to their clients
  • Staged homes photograph better and make a better impression when photos are posted on the internet
  • Staged homes create a better first impression
  • Savvy Realtors and home sellers know that staging will help the home sell faster and for more money

Staging by a Professional Home Stager helps protect your nut(s). It is well known that a well staged home will sell for more money than similar unstaged homes and will sell faster than similar homes on the market that have not been staged. For a relatively small investment, staging your home with the assistance of a Professional Home Stager, may increase your profits with a higher selling price, and reduce your losses, with a faster sale. A faster sale means less carrying costs during the time the home is on the market and more money in your pocket. The more money you make, or save, the bigger your nut(s).

Whether you have (a) bigger nut(s) or (a) smaller nut(s), you'd be nuts to miss your opportunity to sell your home faster and/or for more money.

Hey MM.  Did you accidently click the copyright box when you posted?  I did that last time and had to ask for "help"..... silly mistake :)

Love your analogy and perfect timing. It definitly grabbed my attention, but of course you planned it for the season, huh :) Does that mean we are little squirrels?

Michelle - This might be the best headline I have seen this week.  I was certainly interested to see how staging could help in this critical area.  Well done!

skipping squirrelMM you are a staging "squirrel" who knows how to protect your client's nuts!

I LOVE everything about this post, the title, the contents, the ease of understanding and especially, the author.

You've made it fun to for someone to understand the power and benefits of staging and everyone wins, the client., Realtor and fellow stagers. Great job!

Carole: Even though I was a little cheeky about it, I really do beleive that staging helps home owners sell their homes. I don't know what I wasn't thinking when I hit it, but hopefully AR support will be able to reverse it.

Awesome well thought out post. Maybe instead of a brochure you could make it a pdf flyer to print out and include with your presentation materials? KH

Michelle, excellent post!  Love the tite and the content.  I am a strong believer in staging and advise all my clients to get their home staged prior to marketing.  It sells faster and for more $s.  Great job!

Hi Irina: Thank you for being such a strong supporter of staging. It is a win-win situation. Your client gets a faster sale and more money, and you are able to sell the home faster and net more in the end too.

Hi Judy: This is just my opinion, but I think any seller, who really wants to sell their home quickly and for the most money, and who doesn't take advantage of the power of staging is nuts!

Hi Michelle, what a great title for a great post.  The pictures on MLS are so important to get potential buyers into the home.  My sister is looking for a condo right now and if the pics are bad or worse yet, there aren't any - she just skips on by.  Staged homes sell.  Betty

Terrylynn: I entered this blog in a contest in an AR Group called "Got Features". They asked for entries of blogs that had not been featured, but you would like to have featured, so I thought, "why not give it a shot?" Thanks for commenting.

Natalie: Thanks for checking it out. I was at the gym one day, and that title just popped into my head. I don't know why;-)). I buy royalty free photos from www.istockphoto.com to illustrate some of my blogs (never staging or interior design photos though - those are all my work). They have a great selection and they are cheap, about $1/photo. Photos do so much for keeping readers engaged and interested.
