An Attitude of Gratitude- Leslee Chain: It's easy to get caught up living a life of business. However, some special people seem to have a knack for living the business of life. They are the people that add flavor to their lives and those around them. My wife Leslee is one of those people.
Business Woman: She was office manager for our three businesses while we raised our four sons. Other working moms would call on Leslee to respond to their emergencies. Since Leslee set her schedule they assumed she didn't have a "real job." At times she seemed to be the whole “carpool."
Counselor: She couldn't understand the common grocery store occurrence where seeming strangers would immediately begin to share their deepest heartfelt issues. She once asked jokingly if she had a sign on her back announcing, "please share with me."
Friend: As the proverb states,“If You Want Friends Show Yourself Friendly.” We attended a 20 year church reunion. As the evening settled in Leslee took a chair on the patio. Within minutes 6 or 7 lady friends had brought chairs out to sit with her. That is a person being recognized as a friend... a very funny, witty friend.
Traditionalist: Leslee is to traditions what Fort Knox is to gold. Leslee provides a calender, as a much appreciated gift, to one of our sons. It includes ALL the family birth dates and special occasions... and the occasional phone call to remind. There is a texture that tradition adds to life that can be lost in the life of business.
Grandmother With Time: Art Linkletter, hosted an old TV show titled, "Kids Say The Darndest Things." He once asked a group of children the definition of a grandparent. My favorite response is, “grandparents are people who have time.” I watch as our grandchildren see time seemingly manufactured, out of no where, when they come to visit.
