Forever Homes in Fullerton May Be Rehabilitated

Forever Homes in Fullerton are located in the 92833 zip code and are bordered by Valencia, Euclid, and Harbor Streets and the 91 Fwy.

As a long time neighborhood expert of the area I had written about these particular 'forever homes' and their unique architectural styles (Eichler and Ranch) in previous blog posts. Upon news that the homes in this area may be rehabilitated I've decided to post the new information here.

The Eichler style homes were built in the 50's and were then considered to be some of the most modern and architecturally amazing homes. The architectural/physical beauty of these homes still stand today but the economic burden placed on homeowners where these homes were built left homeowners unable to deal with the physical upkeep that the Eichler homes demand.

Fullerton is a wonderful city and has several new neighborhoods and residential buildings that just don't seem to fit in with the older neighborhoods where the Forever Homes have been stuck in their original condition since being built. Fullerton wants to change this with the rehabilitation of the Forever Homes bringing back the demand of the very popular Eichler style homes. Rehabilitating the homes is a great idea that will help the city and the current homeowners.

Hi Jorge,

Beautifully done, btw I'm right next door as a Brea REALTOR myself and you are so right about Fullerton. It's a wonderful community with lots to offer.

We can hope others appreciate the character of these homes and more of them are restored closer to the original designs...it only takes a few to begin a trend and I think we're beginning to see that now.

Btw, "Forever Homes" were also built in Whittier, near Candlewood CC, been in many of them myself over the years.

Lynda - I appreciate the comment from a neighboring realtor right here in Brea! I think it's cool to know that Forever Homes are also in Whittier I had no idea. I am aware of the Eichler style homes in Orange (although I'm not certain they are 'Forever Homes') that are designed beautifully. These homes have such charm I really hope they decide to rehabilitate the neighborhood as it'll benefit not just the community but it's surrounding areas as well! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

Lynda,

Do you know where one could find out more info about the Whittier (Candlewood Tract) Forever Homes. Some of the homes are slowly being revamped as new owners move in. While my home is not in this style, I just love the MCM-styled homes in this tract around my home. Would be great to be able to spread more info/history as I am sure more owners would spruce up their homes if they knew the history. Thanks.
