11 Comments on Holiday Decorating - Staging Style
Connie,
I did just that very thing for my parents one year and they were just like kids when they saw the results. It was a terrific Christmas.
There's more!
You have just come up with a great marketing idea to real estate offices. Ask the the broker to schedule a staging presentation and gift the winning business card with a free holiday staging using their personal items. It could be inside or outside, Thanksgiving, Christmas or even Hannukah. Although it is a bit different than offering a free staging for an Occupied Home Consultation the result is the same. You have a grateful agent, (they will all want to see the results), yet another staging presentation done (business savvy) and a probable new service you can offer during a sometimes slow season. If the winner is a big community supporter, he/she might prefer using your gift for a service club or organization i.e. Boys/Girls Club, YMCA, Battered Families Shelter etc. Not only is it a great community support effort, it can be written about in the local papers which is free advertising for the Realty office, winning agent and you as well.
Of course all the decorations would be provided to you with no money out of pocket. This idea could be brought up during your presentation and everyone will win. This could trun into an annual thing. Hooray for your idea!
I think I'll incorporate it into my next presentation.
Connie - Several friends and I did this for a Habitat for Humanity family in Austin a couple of Christmas's ago. They were THRILLED and we had a BLAST! It was probably one of the most fun holiday decorating endeavors I've been involved with.

Nonnie: Thank you so much for the suggestions. I am going to work on a marketing plan as you mentioned. I am already thinking...
Jackie: That is also an awesome idea, what more deserving family could there be! Thanks for sharing that.
Shannon: Thanks for your comment. I actually do have event staging and holiday decorating listed under "Other Services" at the bottom of the "Services" page. I guess it doesn't stand out very much; might require some tweaking. :)
Hey, Lizette. I have lots of ideas... I will get my thoughts together and email you. I have some questions about what you already have in terms of decorations. Hug that little angel of yours for me!
Anthea: I know I personally appreciate something so personal as opposed to a last minute purchase picked up just to complete somebody's list.
Cindy: I hear you, it could become overload, but I won't "volunteer" too much.
