St Tammany Property Tax  Homestead Exemption

How to File 

  Louisiana State Law provides that a homeowner may file for one homestead exemption up to $75,000.00. Below you will find contact information for St. Tammany Parish. Contact your assessor to find out how to apply. Most homeowner must apply in person at the assessor's office and provide a Certified Copy of their Act of Cash Sale and a utility bill bearing their name.

$75,000 is a very nice homestead exemption, especially if there are no restrictions. Our exemptions range from $50,000 to $125,000, depending on marital status (which is one reason why gays want to marry), number of children or other dependents living in the home, etc. It gets quite complicated.
