Occupy Wall Street: They're Movin on Up

By
Real Estate Agent

Yesterday I saw two middle aged men (they may still be living at home with parents ;-) on the Upper West Side outside the 72nd Street subway station holding Occupy Wall Street Signs. Today they were gone. It's hard work holding signs. So they're movin on up to the east side.

They're Movin on Up

West 72nd Streeet Subway Station

Well they're movin on up,
To protest on the east side.
To protest deluxe apartments in the sky.

Movin on up,
To protest on the east side.
We're protesting those that finally got a piece of the pie.

Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin',
Just to get up that hill.

Now we're protesting up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat. So why not protest that.
As long as we live, we can set up in tents,
There ain't nothin wrong with that. Lets all protest to that.

Well we're movin on up,
To protest on the east side.
To protest deluxe apartments in the sky.

Movin on up,
To protest on the east side.
To protest people who finally got a piece of the pie.

Sammy Davis Junior singing The Jeffersons theme song

Full Disclosure:

I sell Deluxe apartments in the sky many of my clients, friends and neighbors work on Wall Street.

Mitchell, Do they pay taxes for the street corners and parks they sit/sleep and eat on? Do they realize it isn't easy for all of us? I do believe Politics needs to fix their problems, so why is it that they are not the ones being targeted and inconvenienced?

Very Cute!  Few will remember The Jeffersons.  The OWS movement is in a PRIVATELY OWNED PARK - plot of land and it is hurting businesses in the area at CHRISTMAS!

Ellen, I doubt they pay NYC taxes since most of them are from out of town. Any one can go work on Wall Street if money and 14 hour days is what they want. Do they realize there are a lot of layoffs on Wall Street and no bonuses? That hurts our local economy especially real estate. Many are middle class workers like accountants and secretaries.

Alexandra, LOL

Wallace, Free speech is one thing bringing your own housing tents is another. (That's what real estate brokers are for ,-)

I think they want to hurt businesses for Christmas.

Good morning Mitchell. Wonder what ol' George and Wheezy would have thought of the "movement"? I was actually playing the tune as I was reading. Nice job..

Mitchell ... this post made me smile!

Of course, the occupy Wall Streeters stand for nothing, and have no goals other than to complain and cause trouble.

Randy Lol. I wonder? George and Wheezy and Archie and Edith could have a good discussion. Meat head (Mike Stivick) will definitely be protesting and Gloria will think she's on a date.

Donald, I'm not sure what their agenda is. "To change the world"? A lofty goal with no practical way to achieve it.

I have typed sic different responses and they all sound bitter.

Nevertheless we are wasting resources on the SQUATTERS that could be spent elsewhere.

Move along    There is nothing to see here.

The goal of the movement is to create a perception of repression of the "people"  Doesn't matter who they are, communists, homeless, students, etc.  The leaders hope to get the police to start bashing heads, which will get the networks going crazy, comparing these bums to the 60's movement.  Then in 5-6 months these folks will have polarized America enough to get the true bum reelected.  No more, no less.
