Life is a one-go-around. Make the most of it.
Always enjoyed Larry O'Sullivan's writings since he joined AR. He has a positive inclination and finds a way to look for the best at all times. He brings a sense of calm and reflection to me when I read his posts! In addition, he takes great pictures!
Have a happy day - Lynn
PS Never even knew about his challenge until this post!
Life is a one-go-around. Make the most of it.
As one who makes a daily decision to be happy (happy v. sad IS an individual daily choice), I have no need for medication to help me get through. I have no time to mope or be depressed.
My father lived by the ideals "Life is a wonderful ride: nowhere does it say it has to be fair" and "if I find challenges, then I find a way or make a way".
He was without much formal education. My birth certificate shows him as "soldier" having been a tradesman butcher and a capable farrier. I knew him as a hard working (sugar cane) farmer, bushman, reader, mentor, leader, orator and "one who loved his fellow man".
Dad lost a leg at 59 ("No worries, mate"): I lost two at 58. (I leave my refrain to your imagination).
Like his, my life is a total adventure. In periods of plenty or in tougher times, I neither rest nor think of giving up. I indulge no concert of "retirement".
I am far from being "put out to pasture", nor am I "past my use by date". I have plans.
The best is yet to come.
