Lacing up my running shoes...I'm starting over!
And first let's just say that the first line is definitely the hardest. Blank screen, endless amounts of content, more words than anyone can count. It's a fresh start. A new place to find your voice. For me, it's all about starting over. My life in the mortgage world has taken a new and exciting turn. It's one of those things where you are waiting for Opportunity to knock and you pull the door open and hit the ground running. The door just opened and my shoes are laced up. Let's go!
Starting over can be scary. It can be overwhelming. I choose to find the excitement in a fresh start and run with it. Ten years ago, "mortgage" was not on my radar. But I landed smack dab in the middle of the industry and fell in love. I had the benefit of working as an assistant and soaked up all of the knowledge I could. But I started hearing the knock at the door and had to ask myself where I wanted to go with my career. Finally, I was brave enough to pull open the door and saw a future so bright I will definitely need some dark sunglasses (and some 80 SPF!). As one of the newest Loan Officers for Starkey Mortgage, I find myself in a new world. A world where I am the one responsible for my pay check...and my destiny. As my brother told me not too long ago...be bold, be daring. With risk comes great reward.
I know that starting over isn't going to be easy. It will take hard work, courage, dedication and commitment. But I am ready for the challenge. The last place I thought I would be is on Active Rain. But look at me! Here I am. This may appear to be my first AR post but, alas, it isn't. I am starting over. Rookie mistake and a click happy finger deleted my first two blogs and I watched my local ranking slip two spots...OOPS! It's OK, though, by starting over I am proving to myself that I won't let a little set back stand in my way.
And I am really am lacing up a new pair of running shoes. I decided if I was starting over in my professional career, I would take on a personal challenge as well. The Warrior Dash is just 6 months away and I am signed up! Can I run a mile without stopping today? Nope. But I hope you will follow me in my new start - both professionally and personally...I am going to need all the encouragement I can get!
