Brenda Mullen had given us some great tips on how to make our Facebook images look much better.

I have to admit that I am not on Facebook much but I will try to do better.

I hope that you can find the time to thank Brenda for all her work on this post.

Have a great week and holiday!

Facebook Tip to Keep Your Page Clean

I just saw a this morning's Featured Post about Facebook.  I dont' want to get into the controversy of whether people like Facebook or not.  For some it works, and for some...well, they might not like it.  The bottom line is that Facebook is the number one spot for spam attacks.  When I saw my daughter's FB page last night I almost passed out.  There were some decidedly horrible things posted...things a young girl (like me), my daughter shouldn't lay eyes on.  When I asked her about it, she told me "everybody is getting this stuff""there's nothing I can do about it."  When I heard that, I almost made her delete her account, then I remembered that I didn't have any of that show up on my FB Page.

Why?  I am going to show you.

For some reason Facebook's setting automatically default to a nonsecure setting.  You will need to change this manually to enable a secure setting on your page and thereby reducing the amount of spam or folks being able to hack your site.

First go to your account settings on your FB Page.

Account Settings FB

Then click on the Security Tab in the Upper Right Corner.

Security Tab FB

Go to the Security Browsing Edit Button.  You can see that mine is already enabled, but the default on yours may be set to disabled.  Hit the edit button and click on the box that says Browse Facebook on Secure Connection whenever possible.  It's the only box there to click, so shouldn't be too difficult to find.  Then click save changes.

Update Security Settings

And Whallah (is that how you spell it?), you are browsing FB on a secure connection, thereby protecting you a little more.

I hope this helps everyone and the FB debate can not include this.  Happy Saturday!
