You are trying to sell your house in South Florida and you are wondering if anyone is going to ever even just come by to look at it! You would be happy just about now with just somebody wanting to take a look. Maybe your house has been on the market for a long time now, like over 4 months. Well, brace yourself: we have a 3 year of supply of houses on the market right now. If you do not have to sell, then take your home off the market and save yourself the stress you are feeling just about now.

The following reasons are reasons that make it necessary for you to sell your property:

  • Relocation
  • Divorce
  • Death
  • Illness
  • You are in pre-foreclosure and can not make your payments.
  • You are going to be moving in the next 3 years.

Now is not the time to try and sell your home by yourself. You need to choose a Realtor(R) who understands this market, knows how to work a short sale, knows how to market on the internet and is working full time.

I was commenting on a mortgage broker's blog, Tom Weiss, and he emailed me with the song, Three Little Birdies- Everything's Going To Be Alright by Bob Marley concerning our market here in South Florida. And then Jason Crouch emailed me this song and suggested it I play it for all our sellers!  This inspired me to let all you sellers know that this too shall pass and that all is not for naught. Hang in there. And take a moment to listen to Bob Marley sing this song by clicking on the blue words above. The embedding feature to this song was not enabled so the link will take you to You Tube. This is dedicated to all you sellers in our South Florida markets right now!

Nestor & Katrina - I could not agree more.  For those who are listing "just to see what they can get".  Now is not the time to dabble in selling.

Katerina I love Bob Marley and really needed to hear that song today:o}.  I have a listing that's been on the market since the beginning of July!  It's not moving and people aren't even calling to see it.  Thanks for the reminder that all shall pass and every little things gonna be alright!!

I thought your were going to suggest using Bob Marley's famous pastime to beat the selling woes! It hasn't got that bad yet!

Joe- You are right! Do not play with the market right now. There are too many short sales and foreclosures, don't play with fire! Katerina

Matthew- Definitely not! There are just too many homes on the market and you need to have an agent who knows how to work in this market. Katerina

Sandy, we have listings that have been on the market since March. This is just the market. This is also not unusual time on the market. Since July is not that long. Keep your chin up, count your blessings, look at the good in all, and this too shall pass! Katerina

Todd and Danielle- No, I would not suggest that, that is extreme. But meditation- now that I do prescribe! I meditate every day and that helps with the stress. Katerina

KATERINA - I also gave you a link to this song once in the comments on one of our blogs.  Do you remember that?  Funny.  I guess you were meant to hear it.  I think I told you to play it for your sellers.

Katerina, did you mean this March or last...I just sold a property that was on the market nearly 2 years, 9 months with me. The final drop in price made it happen, they had to sell to pay for the divorce!!  I have not been taking many listings lately, I have been doing better as a buyers agent working with investors... We too have years of inventory on the market, and the amount of brand new homes still sitting is unreal. All I can say, is that buyers with cash or decent credit are getting great deals..Good to see that you are still hanging in there, many are not!!

Mike Norvell Sr., Exit Realty Tri-County

Mike- I have been in business for over 25 years now in Real Estate, it would make no sense to leave a career over a slow market. I meant this past March, 2007. We also have the new home market to contend with. I always believe that no matter what the market is the power is in the listing. This is the first time in over 10 years that I have had to work directly with buyers but now we are. You got to take what you can get. I am writing a post of our history in real estate over the past few years which will make for some interesting reading. Katerina

Katerina,

If sellers are looking at getting Rid of their Homes then they need Notoriety! otherwise they will never Sell.

Your Right,

Tom Weiss

I love your little graphic, Katerina!  A three-year housing supply is a pretty sobering statistic.  Is a bargain price the best response for that, or is the market flooded with bargains?

Katerina - You hit the nail on the head. When the market is more challenging like it is now, it becomes extremely important to have a pro in your corner. Anyone who is thinking of selling their home in the Wellington Florida area would be smart to have you in their corner!

Bill- Thank you for that! Sellers need a pro who understands this market too, not one that just scratches his head in wonderment of what to do! You need to be very creative. I have some great posts coming about this. Thanks for your comment and for stopping by. Katerina
