Orlando Property Manager Discusses Dangers of Dryer Lint

It's Thanksgiving Week, America.... and while folks surely have turkeys and family on their minds (and perhaps members of their family that they count as turkeys), another thing that should cross folks' minds is their dryer vent and its connections.

Holiday Time means visits from family members- and often means extra loads of laundry.

Folks need to ensure the lint trap is clear, keep their dryers as lint-free as possible- and ensure their dryer connections are firmly in place.  I discuss this in the following video:

The pictures that follow are ones I used in a previous blog entry about a dryer lint cleaning company I use and swear by- Delintz.  The larger one is an actual photo from one of my move-out inspections- and one that made me thankful the place hadn't burned to the ground.

The smaller image is a diagram that I'm also using in the video.  It shows where lint accumulates in your home, and provides a great illustration of how dangerous lint can be.

There are 40,000 fires every year, promoted by clogged dryers, that require the fire department!  How many happen that the people don't call for help!  Property managers need to be especially vigilant!

The source for that stat is on my dryer danger blog, but I won't bother you with it!
