{I recently posted this picture and an accompanying story on my primary Blog as well as here and was informed by another site's SEO that my duplicate content might get me banned from Google! Wow, I had no idea. But as I view the photograph above I am reminded that ignorance of the 'law' is no excuse. The content apparently needs to be 25% different [am I there yet?] and thus, a commentary before or after should be in order. {Obviously this is an example of a commentary before a duplicate post.  All previous Active Rain entires I have already submitted will soon have similar [if not exact replicas of] commentarfies after the duplicate post---but I suppose they [the commentaries] will each need to be 25% different as well) I don't know nothin' about nothin'. It wasn't me. Why didn't you tell me?

The truth of the matter is I stumbled across Active Rain by accident while checking out Sellsious. I wasn't sure anyone in the blogosphere was even looking at my primary Blog since I had a total of 1 comment from a friend and 1 comment from my wife and 1 comment from an insane person (a diatribe, actually) the first 3 months I was up and posting. I didn't think my stuff was that bad so I decided to start posting here as well. So from here on forward and backward, this is my 25% Difference Non Duplicate Discalaimer, and I'm sticking to it...unless its a bannable offense from Google  in which case I'll sell my overpriced Google stock and show them! I'll ban them from my portfolio. See how they like it when I give them no page rank! Now I know 'I'm double dog daring' a big guy on the playground (Jean Sheppard reference for my Philly friend, Brian Brady) but right now according to Google, I'm not even another Bozo on their virtual bus. So Thus I Disclaim and wait for the axe.}

Kristal, My Internet Explorer doesn't always play well with others. I'll try to repost the photo--its a busines mans hands behind his back in hand cuffs. Pretty scary!

Thanks for the reminder about making our blogs our own content.  I believe it can be hard sometimes when we repeat something several others have already said.  I understand there's someway to track, I just don't know exactly how to do it.

Cynthia, I just edited my post. What you're saying is another issue. I'm talking about reposting  here at AR from my primary blog in Chicago--my own stuff. Thanks for the comment.

i've been trying to wait a few days before posting the duplicate content on my other blog...do you know the time frame to abide by to avoid the dreaded sandbox?

Leigh, I barely know how to spell computer---that's what got me in this mess to begin with. Apparently there are a lot of rules published somewhere---I would guess on Google!

Fyi the 25% rule is my general rule of thumb in dealing with duplicate content and Google is constantly changing so what works today probably will be differesnt next month.  I just wanted to give you the heads up...  It was only a few months ago that many Advanced Access (real estate agent) websites were being dropped from Yahoo because of the linking of all the agents sites, of which most had similar content.

Geno...  I woldn't get to freaked out about the dupe content, just be aware for the future...

Thanks Brian. I also see you switched your Blogger to the Beta version. I don't want to mess up all my linkage by changing so I'm reticant to start clicking on the new version every time I log on. Or is this a non issue?

I barely noticed anything when I switch over to the beta.  None of my side bar or linkage was affected.  I think it ws more to do with the control panel.
