A Round of Applause for the Realtor

When the Federal Reserve Board lowers the discount rate they give a shot in the arm to the housing market.  This of course encourages those who are ready to buy a home to start searching for a Realtor.  Before the internet,  first time home buyers relied heavily on all information from a Realtor.  Today with all the information that can be gleaned from the internet, our first time home buyers are more savy and are better prepared when they approach a Realtor.  This is also helpful to the Realtor because he or she can move along more smoothly during the process of either buying or selling and know that all they initiate for their client is well understood.

The National Association of Realtors has been put to the task to bring to light the importance of working with  A Realtor when you're ready to buy or sell.  Because of the negative statements made about Realtors it has been difficult to keep stride without being met with frustration from those who love to challenge the profession.

Realtors are trained from the beginning to adhere to a code of ethics and to keep the commandments of a Fiduciary relationship.  To those who are well respected in the field, this is of the most importance and is constantly being recalled to those who are long time veterans and those who are just beginning to practice.  No matter what anyone says, a Realtor will always be needed to help guide those who do not understand the process and I am indeed happy to belong to such a prestigeous association.

With close to 30 years as a professional, full time Realtor, I have found that buyers usually always engage the services of a Realtor (sooner or later)but it's the sellers that think they will save dollars by selling their home without a Realtor.  There will always be those folks trying to do-it-themselves to try to save money.  Sometimes the "savings" winds up costing more.

Dear Wendy,

Thank you for your response.  I agree with you that there are Sellers who rather do the sale personally and by doing so usually pay more.  It's a pity that don't listen to good advice.
