Bring the family and holiday guests to a lively and interactive retelling of the Thanksgiving Story, featuring Glee Mania’s Sue Counoyer, who is guaranteed to entertain and inform. Bull Run Festival of Lights: For over a decade this festival has drawn thousands of visitors from near and far to enjoy a dazzling display of over two and a half miles of holiday lights. And be sure to make time for a stop at the winter carnival when you're done tripping the lights fantastic. 5:30 to 10 p.m.,  Fridays through Sundays and holidays. Black Friday at the Workhouse: Enjoy a unique alternative Black Friday shopping experience.  Avoid the craziness of the malls and browse the amazing works of over 100 local artists and craftsmen. Discover more than 2.5 miles of trails within 52-acre Annandale Community Park with Beyond the Old Oak Trail. Stroll with a naturalist to explore less traveled trails and see evidence of pre-Civil War activity. Bring binoculars. Calling All Flying Squirrels: Flying squirrels rival the population of gray squirrels, but nocturnal as they are, we rarely see them. Look for these amazing “fairy gliders," view the roosting boxes and find out how to encourage these charming creatures to visit your backyard. Displaying the beauty and creativity of fiber arts, The Art of Fiber is a national jury exhibition showcasing pieces from around the country and the world.  Wearable art, sculpture and 2-D pieces will be on display. The Art of Fiber is the Workhouse's 2011 holiday exhibition. Daily through Dec. 31. Workhouse Arts Center. Free.  For information call 703-495-0001.

Music Friends Concerts at the Alden: Harpist Angelina Savoia and violinist Marina Aikawa present a concert as soloists and as a duo. Savoia was named “Emerging Artist for 2010-2011” by the Amadeus Orchestra and was the winner of the 2009 U.S. Army Orchestra Young Artist Competition. She is a student at the Juilliard School. At age 14, Aikawa was the youngest finalist in the National Symphony Orchestra Young Soloists’ Competition, performing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.
