This Thanksgiving there is much to be thankful in my life. I have found MANY new friends here on Active and even ended up with a new job from here which I am excited, happy, honored and filled with gratitude for this opportunity. I think the world of BOTH of my new bosses. They are smart, dedicated, hardworking and super nice and I have learned a lot from both of them.
While I do have some physical health challenges I am grateful for life and all the blessings that God has bestowed upon me. I am grateful to still have my kitty Lindsey. She is 6# and frail but for now she is still with me. I am grateful for a warm place to live that is safe and quiet where I don't have to worry about noisy inconsiderate neighbors. I have a car to drive, heat, lights, running water and food in my tummy.
This has been a year of change with moving in with Mom and caring for her full time. It has been a year where I have been able to plant a garden, plant flowers and feed birds again. Something I missed a lot. I am also blessed to be able to have a little haven known as my "woman cave" to go to when the stress of caring for a parent with dementia gets overwhelming. It has been a long process from start til now but I am getting closer everyday to the time I can move all my furniture in it. I will share pics when it is complete. It is quite unique and very much my own style.
Tomorrow when you celebrate Thanksgiving be grateful for your blessings. I am grateful for ALL of YOU.
God Bless each and everyone of you.
Giving Thanks
For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,
For the labor well done, and the barns that are heaped,
For the sun and the dew and the sweet honeycomb,
For the rose and the song and the harvest brought home --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the trade and the skill and the wealth in our land,
For the cunning and strength of the workingman's hand,
For the good that our artists and poets have taught,
For the friendship that hope and affection have brought --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the homes that with purest affection are blest,
For the season of plenty and well-deserved rest,
For our country extending from sea unto sea;
The land that is known as the "Land of the Free" --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
