Even living in the lap of luxury, 1031 sq. ft. says "home away from home".  That's luxury.

Mitchell,

What a gorgeous entryway and elegantly decorated for the holidays.  Historical buildings project their own special ambiance that is difficult to duplicate...the master craftsmen that worked on these projects left their unique signatures for all of us to enjoy. A

Exquisite design, Mitchell!  I'm especially taken with the artful design on the arched ceiling.  I have never seen anything like it!  I agree with Alexandra's comment #6. . ."the master craftsmen that worked on these projects left their unique signatures for all of us to enjoy."

What a great hallway, Mitchell.  Looks familiar.  I took this picture at the Los Angeles Biltmore yesterday.

Alexandra, Thanks. Tha Apthorp is an extraordinary building. There are only a few full block pre-war buildings with a drive through courtyard. They were designed so that carriages could drive around the entire courtyard and give a sense of a private, secure world.

Myrl, The Apthorp is one of NYC true landmarks, treasured for its Italian Renaissance Revival architercture.

Jane, Beautiful. I stayed there years ago on a business trip. I believe the LA Biltmore is the same style architecture Italian Renaissance with some Spanish Revival.
