The El Segundo Concert Band and the El Segundo High School Band on Saturday will put on an outdoor Winter Wonderland celebration - complete with snow and other wintry activities. Yes, I said snow, I know you are thinking this is Southern California, how could that be? Well you just have to come down and see it for yourself. Dress warm, remember it gets cold after the sun sets near the Pacific Ocean. The event will be held on December 4th from 3 to 8 p.m. in the high school's quad. There will be a holiday bazaar with food booths, holiday merchandise and festive music. After last year’s rave reviews, winter will once again blanket the High School’s grounds.  Not only will there be a good time for all ages, you can even start your holiday shopping, since there will be 40 booths with merchandize. The day's events will culminate in a holiday finale of a performance by maestro Steven Allen Fox and the El Segundo Community Concert Band.

Just so that you know the El Segundo Concert Band believes, that instrumental music plays a vital role for the 21st century family and music not only enriches and nourishes the bond which brings families and communities together. How can you not go to this?

Did I tell you it is a Free Event?

Endre, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  The Winter Wonderland in El Segundo, CA sounds like a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit.  And, I'm sure, it's the only snow you'll actually see, unless it's on TV, LOL.

Hi Endre -- despite our weather, the magic of Southern California can and does create a magic that is unparalled anywhere else.  Thanks for spreading the word.

Liz & Bill most people are not used to it, it is about 50-55 degrees at night and when the artificial snow is made just like skying

Juli, I am perfectly comfortable seeing it on TV, I have lived thru the Blizzards on the east coast. I drove from NYC to Boston during the Blizzard of the Century:)) so I like my 70+ degree weather:)))

Endre, I've got to admit that the photo above doesn't look like much of a winter wonderland...we actually had snow here a couple days ago.

Endre, I thought more about this.  If you are going.....would it be against their policy to tape a bit of the concert, and YouTube it for us?  Just curious.
