Do you know a “levanter”?

I bet ya you do on this word anyway.  I’ve known a few over my years on this earth and really don’t want to know anyone else with this affliction.  I call it an affliction because right now as I write this I cannot think of another word to use in its place.  Anyway I find now they are more abundant so without anymore waiting the meaning of (le van’ ter) is one who disappears, leaving unpaid debts.  So now I ask you again do you know or have known a levanter.

Unfortunately, being a levanter in this society has become an entitlement. Just turn on a TV or radio or view a billboard, you see lawyers advcating bankruptcy or some company volunteering there services, for a large fee, to reduce your credit card debt or negotiate a reduction of your federal taxes.

If this is not entitlement, why do we have businesses, for substantial profit, forming to take advantage of it? We, as a society, have become soft and entitled to spend more then we can afford and then be excused from the payment. Glad I am getting older, if I was youonger I would be mad as hell instead of just disgusted.
