Debra,

What a gorgeous picture.  Cat tails are beautiful, and the dusting of snow is beautiful!  Is it snow or is it the light, regardless lovely shot. a

I use to be really fascinated by Cat Tails when I was a kid.  I thought they looked like Hot Dogs on a Stick:-)

Debra, having grown up in Texas where "Cattails" were an exotic plant....I know them well. These are on the way out and much more interesting to photograph. As Myrl says...they usually look like "corny dogs". Great photo. You do have the knack for getting great shots! Thanks for entertaining us on Sundays. Hope your Thanksgiving was perfect in all ways. Enjoy your week!

What a great photo - when I lived in Germany, I used to sit for hours on the shore of the pond behind our house, hidden by the cattails. There I could watch the wildlife.

Debbie, scientific name of cattail is typha. It is common plants in Florida, found around the drainage ponds and lakes. Have a good week.

A great photo, Debra.  We have them growing all around in the little ponds and swampy areas. I like Patty's cat tail too.

I love cattails, and pussy willows. Pussy willows we have to buy in the stores here, but there are a couple of places where cattails grow. I have yet to determine at what time of the year they look their best.
