The Pinckney boys cross country team won its third consecutive state title this past Saturday at MIS. It's been 50 years since a team has taken three state championships in a row, the last time being in 1955-1957 by Lansing Eastern.

Pinckney runner Brian Hankins ran in 5th place for most of the race, then made a move to take top finisher. Along with Hankins, fellow Pirate runner Mike Katsefaras and Brighton runner Matt Neely also earned state honors, awarded to the top 30.

Congratulations to the Pinckney team and to coach Tom Carney for their impressive victory streak.
