GratitudeThe secret to life, to success, to happiness, to all that is;  having an attitude of Gratitude.

You will find no other action that will ever compare to living each day in gratitude. Gratitude touches the soul expanding out to benefit and changes your world and you circumstances in ways that are beyond and that go deeper than any form of self- improvement technique or motivational moments that go fleeting by without substance.

When you awake in the morning think of all that you are grateful for and carry that with you throughout your day. This will bring marvelous changes to your world and the way that you view your circumstances. Gratitude expands your awareness and inspires you to do more with your life. Gratitude is the magic tool to make you grow, to expand you vision and your purpose. Start a gratitude journal. People who have gratitude journals accomplish more, feel more and heal more than those who don't. There are amazing benefits to an attitude of gratitude.

"Because I have been given much, I too must give;Because of thy great bounty Lord each day I live I shall divide my gifts from thee with every brother that I see who has the need of help from me.

Because I have been sheltered fed by thy good care; I can not see another's lack and I not share, my glowing fire, my loaf of bread, my roof's safe shelter overhead, that he too may be comforted.

Because I have been blessed by thy great love, dear Lord; I'll share that love again according to thy word. I shall give love to those in need, I'll show that love by word and deed: thus shall my thanks be thanks, indeed."  By Grace Noll Crowell, 1877-1969

I can not hear nor sing this song without tears streaming down my face. We sing this song in Church. This song inspires me to do my best, to be grateful for each moment I am alive, to be grateful for my family, my beautiful children and my loving husband. It causes unconditional love to flow through me as I pass a beggar on the road and empty out my pocket of change into his hand without judgment, without ridicule and filled with love knowing that all things are as they are for a reason and perhaps that beggar was placed on my path to see if I would but live my words. Feeling grateful just to be able to give back and pay it forward to all who cross my path in life is very empowering. My journey takes me across multitudes of spaces and places, along rivers of emotions and streams of enlightenment and one such journey has been blogging on Active Rain. I have been blessed for with many talents that I am compelled to share and to which I may bless the lives of my friends and associates here on the Rain. May you feel what I feel and live today with an attitude of gratitude.

Katerina, Thanks for the eye opener.  I have so much to be grateful for!  Sometimes we get caught up in our everyday problems that we forget about all the good in our lives.  I am grateful for your advice on this beautiful morning!

Amen!  An attitude of gratitude. It is thankful to to be grateful.  Nothing is promised to any of us. Not even the next breath.

To who much is given, much is required.   God won't bless you just to bless YOU.  You are blessed to be a blessing to someone else.

If everyone does a little, then no one had to do a lot and the world will be a better place for ALL!

Katerina, What a beautiful post and completely true.  Seeing and counting your blessings and being grateful to them adds more.  It's wonderful when you can see beyond the issues we all have and just be grateful for all the blessings you've been given.  Thank you for the lovely message.

Katerina,

What a great post! It is so true what you said. By living with gratitude we can live a more fulfilled life. There is so many things that we sometimes may take for granted. We should appreciate everything we have or don't have because the most important thing of all is that we have........life.

Katerina-  Isn't it funny, how our perspectives can be changed simply by appreciating what we've already been given?  So many of us have been given so much, but don't often stop to be grateful.  By taking the time to appreciate our blessings, a million more seem to appear!

Katerina -beautifully said and so true. There is a purpose to our existence, we have to believe in it and find meaning in our blessings. May be it's age, I try to think every day what I am grateful for.

Thanks for the inspiration.  One of my goals in life is to maintain an attitude of gratitude every day.  I have so much to be thankful for.  It is easy to see others who are suffering, or living in poverty or fear.  I am truly blessed.

Thanks for such a great post. Prior to hearing about the "Law of Attraction" I was involved in what was called the GO GRATITUDE experiment...Being in a state of gratitude opens up the lifeline of tranquility in our lives as well as doors of opportunity.

I journal daily my gratitude not just for my family , friends and pets but the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, the butterflies, and anything else I can think of. At times it is difficult to maintain gratitude but the act of writing down what I am grateful for even in hard times I have found eases my tension and changes my responses to situations.

Katerina, Very inspiring post. I can "see" by your other posts that you live this philosophy. I personally don't like "takers." Givers are always my choice to "pal around" with. Gratitude and giving go hand-in-hand. Thank you for putting this into words.

Katerina - How have I missed your posts?

Thank you for the post and the song.  I learned a long, long time ago that where I have need, someone else has abundance and where I have abundance, someone else has need.

If I can remember to be grateful for what I have, I can listen for the whisper or the cry when someone else has a want or need.  I absolutely love it when I'm not out looking for anything to do for someone; but somehow I meet a need of theirs and it happens...I get to hear them say "thank you" to the Lover of their souls

Katerina-This beautiful hymn completely sinks into my heart.  This is one of my very favorite church hymns.  When my sweet hubby was laid off and I had just had my little girl, while working many extra hours to make ends meet until he found a new job, that song would replay over and over in my mind. You are so right.  When we reach out and give of ourselves, that gratitude fills up all the empty spaces and gets us through some of the hardest times in life. Thank you for your inspiration in sharing this beautiful song.

Julie- The first time I heard this song after it was added to our hymn book I could not think of any other song and it kept playing over and over again in my mind. I think of it whenever I start to complain about how things may not go my way to get back to gratitude in knowing that there is SO much to be thankful for and WE truly have been given SOOOO much. We just take it for granted! I think of countries like in India where the average paycheck is $95 a year! They have none of the luxuries we take for granted. In Africa it costs $75 a month for one of my homeschool mom's dads who is a minister over there to live. No electricity, no refrigerators, no running water, don't we just live life assuming everyone else has these things? We are so blessed and I thank God that he let me come to America to live! Thank you for sharing. I love your inspired by song entry, BTW. Katerina

It is amazing what words well written can do for a persons day.  My beautiful wife and I just celebrated our 17th anniversary and for the first 8 it was rough, but then the Father found us and the next 8 have been an amazing journey.  We truly have so much to be thankful for every day and I can't wait to find out what is next in the journey.  Thank you for reminding us.
