How's the weather?

              Fall in Florida....                                            palms

How's the weather you might ask?  Well there comes a day here in Naples Florida when you turn the thermostat to off and joyfully open the windows.  I am happy to report that day has arrived.  As I lay in bed this morning nestled under my sheet and light blanket I thought how lucky I am to be living here ... I took a deep breath of the cool morning area and thought yes Fall has arrived.

The temperature here this morning was 62 degrees.  Just delightful.  I threw on a light jacket as I fed the horses  ( yes I was wearing a jacket).  I listened to the hawks scream as they hunted on the canal and the rustling of the palms and thought yes this is where I want to be.  We are expecting a high dry 80 degrees today.  No humidity ...

Oh but wait what about the tropical storm that was all over the news???  Gloom and doom right ? NOT so.... We had some tropical breezes, a few bands of light rain and that was it...  Over the weekend however I received a call from my dad.  His message jokingly asked why I wasn't more concerned about how he and my mother were  doing and what a horrendous storm they were having... he used the H word... Yes Hurricane.

Confused I quickly called him back.  He and my mother were miserably sitting in the dark fighting with the smoke detectors that kept going off with  each power outage.  I apologized and said I had not heard any more about the storm... How were things ... miserable they reported.  Rainy, high winds, boats pulled out, trees down, and guess what they live in Barnstable, MASSACHUSETTS ( Cape Cod).  NOT HERE!

So the weather is great , we have electricity, no high wind reports, windows are open and prices are terrific.  The weather report for Boston was 50 degrees with a high of 59 today and tomorrow 48 with a new storm coming in... Isn't it time to get on down here to Naples?   Hurry up before your next N'oreaster....We're waiting...

How does it always end? Wishing you were here....

Must be NIce Shannon, I am here in the Toronto area and it is not very nice today, we are just about 40 degrees today! Brrrrr a bit chilly! That is why i used to have a Florida real estate license also which i have recently let expire, so i could escape to the warmth over the winter months!

I'm hoping that the nice weather will hold through Thanksgiving.  I'll wave when I pass by on my way to Mom's in Miami for a Thanksgiving feast.

My wife would be jealous - we've had 20-30 degree nights and she is very much a warm weather person. One day we'll move, perhaps to FL? :)

Have a successful week.

Hi Scott ... yes well believe me I appreciate it... after living in the Boston area and then Virginia ( just not hot enough) we finally made the move and we LOVE IT.  Hey why not get your license going again??? Great things are happening here with improved insurance rates, and hopefully some tax decreases after a special election to be held January 29th.  Thanks for the comment... It's good to be reminded of how cold it is elsewhere...

Hey Nancy yes wave when you go by.... I'm hoping it's here to stay now... It's been a bit hot for most of Oct..warmer than ususal and more humidity.  There are a lot of people here today I noticed when I walked on the beach... Make sure your mom and all her friends that live here as residents get the word out to VOTE Jan 29th for our tax reform - increased homestead to $50,000 and portability with your tax base both moving up or down.  We need 60% of the voters to get it done ....  enjoy your tropical turkey!  Have a super week.

Hi Dan, ugh your poor wife.  Yes come for a visit... 20- 30 degrees is tough.  Some places in Florida I think might have a frost tonight...not here which is good since I don't want to lose my landscaping ... it is kind of nice to have a bit of a chill in the air in the morning but I too have always been a warm weather person and those temperatures just weren't cutting it.   How's the market there I heard Washington is experiencing a better market than most of us!
