As an Upper Marlboro, MD Real Estate Agent, I know the up and down real estate cycle we have expereienced over the past several years.  Being a resident of Prince George's County, MD, I have seen the hot activity simmer down to an almost non-existent boil.  So, what does this mean for perspective buyers?  This means, act now while the market conditions are right to buy a home!

Considering the low interest rates, low home prices, and buyer programs, buyers stand a great chance of reaping the bountiful benefits from this buyer's market.  It's challenging to hear this message within all of the negative housing market information that's often communicated in the media.  It becomes a thunderstorm of doom and gloom.

As I read daily, there are small signs of progress with the housing market, but progress would have to be very dramatic to turn the housing market back around to a seller's market.  This is where buyers should become the lions or lionesses of this housing jungle and pounce on your prey- a great housing deal. 

You should first be ready, willing, and able.  This just means that you know in your heart and mind that buying a house is what you plan on doing.  Secondly, you should be prequalified by a lender to obtain the greenlight that you are a worthy candidate to receive a loan to buy a home.  Now, get ready, set, go!  And your off to the races.  There's a house over here.  There's a house over there.  It seems to be raining houses everywhere.  Yes, buyer's you have a large inventory of houses to choose from.

You have short sale properties.  You have foreclosures.  You have regular sale properties.  You have new inventory from builders and you have the many resales.  Incentives abound.  Even new home builders are making their homes more inticing with increased incentives to the buyer.  With lower prices and more buyer incentives, new homes are more alluring than what they've been in the past.  What this boils down to for buyers is that your money can now stretch further and buy you more home.  With declining property values, many homes are reduced thousands and hundred of thousands of dollars.  I don't know about you, but this sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
