Nutcracker

 

           The Nutcracker returns to Spokane and although it is a much smaller production than in the past, it continues to bring a sparkle to the region every December.  Students of dance from across the area had the opportunity to audition this fall and now they have rehearsed countless hours and are preparing for the curtain to rise.

The Nutcracker opens Friday, December 2 and runs through Sunday, December 4 at Spokane's Martin Woldson Theater.  Tickets are available for evening and matinee performances at the Theater box office or from TicketsWest. 

The State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara will perform on stage accompanied by our local students of dance.  Set to the music of Tchaikovsky and performed by the Spokane Symphony, everyone should experience the magic of Christmas through live theater at least once in their lives.

We had the opportunity to go "behind the curtain" once (many years ago when our daughter was cast as a mouse).  You can't imagine the excitement and the energy that goes into a performance of this renown.   Regardless of your age, I encourage you to consider attending The Nutcracker this year. It is delightful.  It is beautiful. Here's a preview.
