There are three credit reporting companies and you can receive a FREE annual credit report from each. However, if you lose your wallet or credit cards or a card is missing, do this first: Call and report it.

Then call your police department and get a report. You'll need that.

Then, if you were carrying your social security card (why?) call

Print this out and save it. It's hard to find the phone numbers, even on their websites.

And you do have a secure list of all active cards with the account numbers and the 800 number to call if the card is lost or stolen. If not, why are you just sitting. Do it now.
