The Transformation of Fred the Tree

By
Real Estate Agent

In addition to my resident dog and cat, there is another “family member” who lives on the premises.  For many years, Fred the Tree has continued to occupy the same spot in my backyard.  I love Fred because he doesn’t beg to get out in the morning, or gnaw at my leg to be fed.  However, when I peer out my kitchen window this morning, through mists and fog, I can see Fred has been hitting the Clairol bottle.  He is decidedly more “blonde” than a few days ago:-)

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Hi Myrl, Fred should  let a professional do it. I have seen a few REALTORS® that should also let the pros do it. Red on top and brown on the rest looks like some sort of a irradation treatment. LMAO. I enjoyed this and know you are now fully recovered and back to your wonderful self from the hectic weekend.

Myrl, Fred better start hitting the Rogaine. I hear that baldness runs in the family seasonally.  :)

Richard - Oh, I remember Pet Rocks.  They definitely weren't before my time.  I had one called, Hermie!

Alexandra - Fred has been a really good tree.  He doesn't seem to get as much mistletoe as other trees in the neighborhood.

Tony and Darcy - I predict Fred will be bald within 10 days. . .Maybe even sooner!

Juli - Fred periodically (seasonally) plays with hair color:-)

Than - When I looked out the kitchen window and saw him, it just hit me that more than one blonde lived at this house:-)

Ed - The sun didn't come out at all yesterday.  Winds are supposed to kick up today and blow out the valley fog.  I'm looking forward to seeing blue skies once again!

WIN - And Happy Holidays to you too!

Michael - You're very welcome:-)

William - It certainly could be an "irradiation" treatment.  You know how difficult it is to keep mistletoe at bay these days:-)  Actually, because I am a swimmer, there have been a couple of times I've had hair that color.  Chorine does terrible things to the hair.  I have learned to wet my hair and put conditioner on it before putting on my swim cap.  That way I escape the green part of that look:-)

Tom - I doubt that even industrial strength Rogaine will keep Fred from going bald this season:-)

Rather a handsome fellow, I say.     Myrl, I seem to remember you speaking about Fred a couple of years back.  Isn't it interesting how we develope affection for old favorite trees.  Love how you brought him to life.

Roy - Fred seems to be a very happy tree.  At least he tells me so on most days!

Cathy - Yes, Fred got into an adventure a couple of years ago when a major storm blew through, and there was evidence he had been smoking in bed: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1285894/not-so-wordless-wednesday-mother-natures-napalm

Hi Myrl, Lovely post. Fred is a handsome tree. I hope he has more fun as a blond. He will be bald soon but it won't be long before he has a full head of green leaves.

Hi Mryl...Fred "The Face" seems to have some relatives living around Lake Anna.  We like these friendly guys.

I'm suggesting simply because I think more folks would like to know what's going on with Fred.  Re-blogging also.

This made me smile!  I had two trees like this in my yard, jaunty and happy and they make me smile when I see them.  They surprise visitors and embarrass my children!  I lost one this year and have yet to find a tree big enough to replace him!

Myrl Fred look so cute with tinted hair.  I have a couple trees that I see from my kitchen window now you have inspired me to name them.

I love the way you can weave a story around a photo.

Myrl - even Fred huh? Does he say "put that darn camera away" ;) It's nice to know I'm not the only person who names things like plants and trees.  Have a great week.

Myrl,

That is just too cute. I love trees too they seem to have their own personalities. I have attached a picture I took in Central Park earlier in the year. I hope you enjoy it!

Fred may have been doing a few laps in the swimming pool. His hair has a slight chlorine tint to it! ☺

Myrl ... very cute!  You are lucky to have trees that big!  We have only been on this property for 5 years so nothing has grown to that size yet!
