I have a soft spot in my heart for store window displays. I remember being a little girl and going to downtown Chicago to see the window displays at stores like Marshall Fields and Carson Pirie Scott during the holidays. It was always so magical when the intricate displays were finally unveiled. Before getting into real estate, I worked as a visual merchandiser and had the opportunity to create my own window displays. While they were never as elaborate as the displays in downtown Chicago, they were my own mini works of art!
This weekend the owners of the shoppes in downtown Edmond will have their chance to show off their own window display works of art during the "Downtown Edmond Shop Crawl." Merchants will be competing in a Window Display Competition. Shoppers will get to vote for their favorite display. I'm looking forward to seeing what some of my favorite stores like Sterling's, Fashion Boutique and Broadway Antiques and Market come up with!
The window display competition isn't the only exciting part of the shop crawl. I heard that shoppers will receive a "Passport" that they can have punched at each store they visit. Completed passports are then turned in for a chance to win a $250 gift card that can be spent downtown. How fun is that?
Maybe I'll see you for a little window shopping in downtown Edmond this Saturday!
