This isn't the first time I've posted this video, it probably won't be the last.

The last time I posted it was to share with you the amount of the check our small group of bikers and golfers sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital after our Bikes and Blues With Mickey Jones events last April.

This time I am posting it to show why I am inspired to volunteer on this committee to raise money for St. Jude and will continue to do so as long as I can.

I am hoping this song and video by (at the time) 19 yr old Kayla LoCicero will inspire you to get involved in a favorite charity too!

There are many good charities out there, just make sure to research them first, make sure you know where your money is going.

"They pass a statue
as they walk through the doors
Of a man named Danny
These kids have never seen before

They'll pay no money
With the help from you and me
I saw an angel
In the Halls of St Jude....Memphis Tennessee"

The children that go to St. Jude are treated like family because that is the way Danny Thomas, St. Jude's founder, wants it.

Their parents don't have to pay a dime for their treatment, or the lodging at the different houses that are there at the hospital for the families of the patients.

Because of this, "no child is turned away because of their parents inability to pay."

St. Jude relies on donations to run their hospital, and it costs over 1.2 million dollars a day to run this hospital.

Not only are they researching ways to fight cancer (and win) but they are researching other diseases like childhood AIDS and the Bird Flu.

If you have a hard to buy person on your Christmas list, you can always donate to a charity in their name a small amount as a gift.

There is no better feeling in the world to me then giving my time and more to help these children live. When I get to meet them, I can't begin to tell you how it makes me feel. I guess you could say it's almost like I'm in the presence of a miracle.

Lysa, This post touched a nerve, this is my all time favorite charity as well.  I give to them as often as I can because I believe that any amount helps.  I can't think of anything better then helping ill children and their families.  Danny Thomas was a true inspiration and I'm glad his daughter carries his passion.

Awesome video, such a great charity. Man, I would not want to be Adam, Paul or Jason, this contest is awesome, I am hearing some good music and how it touched people's heart.

Carole, Besides the work I do on the committee, Steve and I are what they call Partners In Hope, we donate 20 a month. It's not much but like you said, any amount helps. As Steve first told me, "it's for the kids"

Monika, I didn't know you read that post, thanks for the smile!

Jackie, LOL no stock, but had you been on our ride last year with us, we had a group of planes fly over us in the opposite direction and I lost it. I don't know how we will top that feeling next year. Everyone still talks about that fly over

Missy, Thanks, it is a wonderful charity, and your right about the guys, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes either!

Lysa - It's wonderful that you have taken this to heart.  Just one more reassurance that we, as the human race, have not gotten so cold and hardened to the distress of others that we can't stop to reflect on our blessings and share with others.  Thanks for a wonderful post.

Paul & Adam, Missy is right, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes! Thanks for this great contest!

Lisa, I've just read a couple more, I agree!

Carol, Thank you. The first time I did an organized ride for charity in the early 90s, it made me feel so good, I couldn't wait to do it again. When I was invited to join this committee, I didn't think twice, in fact I felt honored.

Joan, Sometimes Steve says I say it too often LOL!

Lysa - It's wonderful that you've entered the contest.  I have been associated and helped to raise money for the St. Jude group since I was 12 years old.  I agree, it's great that you are motivating others to give and help where it is needed much!

Tom, Kayla has a beautiful voice doesn't she? I am in awe of St. Jude, they are awesome.

Cynthia, HI!! I love this contest! I hope I can inspire others into giving. I want to share the feeling that I get from giving. It's one of the best feelings in the world...

Hi Lysa,
St. Judes is a marvelous charity.  Any charity that takes care of sick or needy children ranks high with me.  This time of year, I love Toys for Tots.

Cynthia, I agree 100%! I'm actually assisting with a Toy Run right now that we are going to be holding here in Daytona on December 1st. I'll be posting about it soon!

There are so many worthy causes - I have learned that I need to focus more on a few and really apply myself.

Thanks for sharing - St Jude's

Ana, I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for coming by.

Kathleen, St. Jude's is my main focus, and then there are smaller local biker oriented charities I work on when I hear about them. I have two coming soon, the end of Nov for a friend of our Bikes and Blues ride and a toy run the begining of Dec which I am so looking forward too.

Lysa, My daughter works at Executive Office for Tri-Delta Sorority, and St. Jude's is the sorority's philanthropy.  They've pledge $10m to build a floor in the new building, so I hear a lot from my daughter about St. Jude's and fundraisers to support this pledge.  Last year, at one of their fundraisers in Maryland, we had the privilege to meet one of the beneficiaries of St. Jude's and it was very inspiring  They do amazing things for children and families.

Margaret, I've met 2 children who are alive because of St. Jude. it is a wonderful place for sure! Give you daughter and her Soroity a huge hug from me! I love what St. Jude is about!
