In an effort to help encourage the declutter of your home, your families' homes and your co-workers' homes, I came across two meaningful holiday gift ideas that won't take up space in anyone's home:
DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that benefits public school classes around the country. Here's how it works: Public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. You can choose a project based on school location, subject or urgency.
Then, you can browse project requests and give any amount to the one that inspires you. Once a project reaches its funding goal, we deliver the materials to the school. You'll get photos of your project taking place, a thank-you letter from the teacher, and a cost report showing how each dollar was spent. If you give over $100, you'll also receive handwritten thank-you letters from the students.
You can give as little as $1.
Heifer International - Heifer's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. Heifer does this by providing appropriate livestock, training and related services to small-scale farmers and communities worldwide. You can donate an animal such as chickens, a goat, ducks, or honeybees. trees, seeds for gardening and more to places around the world to help.
Vegetarian or vegan? Heifer International addresses that too - you can donate trees or seeds for gardening.
