While putting up my Christmas decorations this week, I caught my little 8 month old Pomeranian "Lola" in the act of snatching a ribboned bow and claiming it for herself!
This made me laugh and brought back memories of Christmas 1986 and my son's first Christmas. The only thing he was interested in at 10 months of age was the bows and ripping the paper off the packages!
Puppies are really no different from Toddlers, they both have similarities:
- they destroy things
- they put everything in their mouth
- they have accidents and need to be potty trained
- both cry and need attention
- we love them!
It's been 27 years since I have had a toddler roaming around the house. This Christmas we have some excitement and wonderment to enjoy with Little Lola as she explores the sparkling festive additions to the house.
The nightly entertainment of a puppy can lift your spirits again and make you smile! Coming home to the energy of a puppy also reminds me that its probably a good thing my "real toddler Mommy" chapter is behind me. Some days real estate can be draining. I'm tired with very little energy left!
