Lockout is Over - NBA is Back in Action!
Finally after almost losing the whole season, the players and owners came to an agreement to end their lockout, and the NBA will start this Christmas, December 25, 2011 with a Triple Hitter. Instead of an 82 game season, we will only have 66 games. Yes, another short season, and everyone in San Antonio remembers what happened the last time the NBA had a short season. Our San Antonio Spurs won their first NBA Title with Mr. Robinson and Tim Duncan.
So, basketball fans get ready for some Fantastic games starting on Christmas Day with the Boston Celtics at New York Knicks. Then a repeat of the 2011 NBA finals with the Big Three from that Miami Heat Team going to Dallas to take on Dirk and the boys. This should be a great rematch for those two dominate teams. The final game in the Triple Hitter has those Chicago Bulls with Derrick Rose going up against Kobe and those Los Angeles Lakers.
Perhaps, my San Antonio Spurs can make another appearance to the NBA finals. One thing for sure, a team from Texas will be in the NBA finals in 2012. What do you think? Who will win it all this year? .
Hi Mark and Tim, Yes, I remember Jerry West in his prime, along with Elgin Baylor too. There were as awesome as Kobe and Shaq.
Hi Lorinda. I missed that fact about the NBA players in China. Those Houston Rockets would love to get Yeo Meng back in Action soon.
Hi Charlotte, You may have a point about Boston. Doc Rivers knows how to motivate his team to victory. I like Doc too since he did wear a the Spurs uniform for a brief time before he retired.
Yes, Marco, That's what they spent all the money on the BIG Three was to win that NBA Title. Let's see what LeBron, De Wade and Chris can do this year.
Yes, Bill. A Shorten season may help our Aging Big Three players, especially Tim and Manu, since Tony is still in his prime. It would be interesting see who Pop has for the supporting players this year, since there were so trades in the off season.
Yes, Lisa. As much as I love my San Antonio Spurs, your Dallas Mavericks will have to be the favorites as the returning NBA Champions.
Thanks, Karen. I have loved professional basketball since the Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Bill Russel years. Of course these are all legends now, and already in the NBA Hall of Fame. You can Cheer us on the year!
Thanks, Anita. You love Cheerleaders! You and Karen will make some great supporters.
WOW! Thanks, Lisa for choosing to comment here to get over that first 100K milestone. I did go back and check your post of this feat. You have worked hard and deserve to celebrate. I just made the first page for Texas bloggers, and I didn't think it was an exciting as me making that first page in San Antonio.
Enjoy all of your accomplishments in the Rain, and Yes, I am glad to call you a Friend too.
Hi John, I do love college football and the NFL, but I dont' really follow it that closely anymore until it's Bowl time for the National playoffs, and the NFL Playoffs. The Globetrotters of old where my favorites too.
Yes, Don. Christmas should be very entertaining if you are an avid basketball fan.
Michael, Years ago one of my best friends told me that I needed to keep up with College basketball since they were the future NBA stars. I don't really follow college basketball until that Sweet 16 Tournament.
Hi Will, Sorry to hear your Hockey Team is not doing well this year. Denver let Carmello get away, but perhaps it will prove to be a Great Trade for the Nuggets.
Yes, Mike. Your Timberwolves are still trying to rebuild after the let Kevin Garnett go to Boston.
Hi Belinda. The national debt could certainly use some of those millions being made in the NBA.
Jennifer. Only the Fans lose out with these Lock Outs in sports. They did finally come to their senses. Time to Play!
Hi Cathy, It should be a GREAT game for the Spurs. Maybe with this short season another Championship.
