Home Depot Tool Rental Joins QR Code Users

I was at Home Depot’s Tool Rental and noticed that there was a QR Code posted on one of the tool cages. Since I was waiting my turn, I scanned the code to check out later. During that day, I had a need to also rent another tool and wasn’t sure if Home Depot rented this tool. I thought I’d check the QR Code.

The Code sent me to a web site of all the local Home Depot Tool Rentals in the area, with addresses and phone numbers. I called a few and easily found the tool. The QR Code worked great. I would have been better if it listed the tool rental prices.

I’ve included a Photo of the code, maybe it can help you. More importantly, it seems that the codes are showing up in more and more places. I have found that many are helpful, others not so helpful. The key is to just check them out.

Yes, they do seem to be popping up everywhere, and yes some places get the concept better than others.  I haven't been to HD for a while - I should go there in the next week or two to check out my section.

Although the QR Code has been around for decades, the utilization of it has not been mastered. Thanks for the comment Ronald.

Tom, it's all about the simplicity to take you places......................directly

Homes, tools and cereal. The question is what's next

Good Morning, Tom. You are absolutely right about those QR codes showing up everywhere. I am beginning to notice them all over the place these days. Haven't seen one at our Home Depot lately, but I am sure I just may have overlooked it.

Have a Great Day!

It sure can be easier Tori, but is it useful. That's the real question.

Hi Tom,

Good info!  I know what you mean about the QR codes.  People who make them need to make sure the site they are going to can be viewed from a mobile devise.  I think that's the biggest problem with the codes not being very good!  Hope you're staying good and busy!
