Trying Something Old - Postcards

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Mike McCann - Broker, Mach1 Realty Farm & Commercial Land Broker-Auctioneer Serving Nebraska

The largest commission I ever received was as a result of a simple postcard campaign.

I think it is time to give that a try again out here in Nebraska...where we still have outhouses...and buffalo...and cowboys...and not a lot of internet on some farms.

As I type this, I just sent a 14mb fileto a potential buyer.   Score one for computers.  All others want it mailed or hand delivered...score one for the old fashioned way.

The postcard I am sending out was made on this computer.  Score two for computers.

They will be mailed tomorrow after being hand addressed...Score two for the old fashioned way.

However...the vast majority of people I will be sending to live in the country and about 1/2 do not have computers and about 1/4 that do have one do not know what e-mail is.

Nothing wrong with that...but I have to reach them some how so I am going back to a tried and true system I haven't used in over 4 years.

Come on Baby Light My Fire!

Perhaps it will light a fire under this listing that doesn't seem to want to sell...

Wish me luck!!!

OOPS...the client just texted me and said the email did not come and I sent it to two e-mail addresses...Hmmm...

his server....my server...

who knows why...but this I know...I could have hand delivered it by now...  Score 3 for the old fashioned way.

Now ain't that a kick in the old can?

Hey Mike, you have an interesting real estate market.  I'm curious to hear an update of how the 'old fashion' mailing campaign goes.  Much success to you and Merry Christmas!

Hi Mike - good for you! Direct mail is still very effective. (If you don't believe me, ask Barbara Todaro here on AR). I recently analysed where my 2011 business came from: 34% of my sellers and 25% of my buyers resulted from my monthly newsletter (most delivered by snail mail) or other direct mail pieces1

Mike, the best of luck with your post card campaign... it seems like a mixture of the old and the new prospecting methods are the key.

Love it! Direct mail should never be out of date! Back th the basics BABY! If you ever want to opt for snail mail printed for you at a low cost just message me! I will share with you my campaigns I use to land expired listings and FSBO - they work like a charm and the postcards are cheap! it is kind of the merge of old fashion and new age! Either way - Great job! Keep it up!
