Isn't it funny how as a teen I could hardly wait to grow up and dart off to start my own adventures. Yet, now that I live hundreds of miles away from most of my family, my visits home are what I look forward to for months beforehand.
Much of the month of November for me was spent at home in Virginia and off vacationing with my family. It. was. awesome. Hope you haven't missed me too much ;-) and now that I'm back, allow me to share some pictures of my recent excursion. Enjoy!
The trip started at Pipestem Resort in WV. This is the first sunrise of my vacation, a gorgeous view from our cabin.
Friends I made on a solo early morning hike. Shockingly, no one in my family wanted to get up at 6am to go with me :-)
The beautiful place where I grew up, Roanoke Valley in Virginia. I snapped this shot before a hike down Mill Mountain.
Mom and I enjoying coffee, wine and dessert at the Peaks of Otter Lodge in Virginia. And yes, I ate the whole thing.
Back on the road, crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on a perfect day.
Still on the road. Delaware farmland, reminiscent of Illinois.
And no trip to Delaware would be complete without crab cake, best in the world. Don't even try to argue with me on this one.
