If moving to Vienna is out of the question, how about Ocean County New Jersey? Ocean County is about one and one-half hours from the metro areas of Philadelphia and New York and an hour north of Atlantic City, which are easily accessible using the Garden State Parkway. Ocean County has a excellent education system with some of the best primary and secondary schools in the state (thus the country) and nationally renowned universities.
Because of the barrier beaches, Ocean County also hosts 40 miles of Barnegat Bay and is the start of the inland waterway which terminates in Florida. There are plenty of watersports, from sailing, windsurfing, and parasailing, not to mention crabbing and fishing. Ocean County is home to Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park, Wild Safari Animal Park, the A-Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Tuckerton Seaport, a 40-acre maritime village and too many beach resort towns to mention.
With hiking trails that stretch for miles to top ranked beaches and first class community theaters (with big-name stars) to Zagat rated restaurants, Ocean County NJ has it all...except maybe for an Imperial Palace or a Langstrasse....but Vienna or Zurich don't have much of a beach scene either!
