What could be any more fun this weekend than a drive upcountry with family and/or friends to enjoy the food and entertainment
at Ulupalakua Ranch? The Ranch and Maui's Winery host their annual "Ulupalakua Sparkles", on Sunday, December 4, marking the official start of their Holiday Season.
There is certainly some "sparkling" entertainment this year, including Grammy-award-winning slack key guitar artist Jeff Peterson who will perform with the extraordinarily talented Nathan Aweau. That's just the beginning. Here is the complete entertainment line-up:
Winery Grounds Stage:
11 a.m.--Kalama Intermediate School Ukulele Band of Makawao
12-1 p.m.--Jeff Peterson and Nathan Aweau
1-2 p.m.--Uluwehi Guerroro and Gale Wisehart with the Maui Community Choir
2-4 p.m.--Jeff Peterson and Nathan Aweau
Music at the Ranch Store:
12-3 p.m. Benny Uyetake
But let's not forget the food and wine. Free wine tasting hosted at Maui's Winery on the Ranch, Maui Gold Pineapple from Hali'imale Pineapple Company, steaks and chili from Maui Cattle Company; and, of course, the amazing food at the Ulupalakua Ranch Store Deli & Grill. There will also be some special treats by Ka Ipu Kukui Fellows Program, a leadership program from UH Maui, with proceeds to benefit this program, so be sure to stop by and support them.
Shopping, great food, fantastic entertainment and a beautiful drive upcountry on a Sunday afternoon. Who could ask for more? See you there between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and expect to have a fabulous time.
Directions: From Central Maui, take Hana Highway (Route 36) to Haleakala Highway (Route 37). Stay on Route 37 all the way to the community of Keokea. Pass Henry Fong Store on the right, and continue on the narrow road 6 miles to Ulupalakua.
