Tucsonans know how to spend the holidays - especially since decorating for the holidays starts early in November!  We also have lots of dance, theater, music, and lights, lots of lights - all around town and parades!

Not including Santa sightings which you can see at any mall in Tucson, I'll post daily events to help get you into the holiday season!

December 1st is all about Christmas shows:

·         "A Christmas Carol" at the Comedy Playhouse, 3620 N First Ave at 7:30 tonight  cost is $18.

·         "Christmas In The Big Apple" at the Gaslight Theatre at 7010 E. Broadway.  Always a fun time here - and don't forget to have a milkshake during the show times at 3, 6 and 8:30pm, cost is $17.95.

·         "Away With the Manger" at the Waypoint Theatre Company at Atria Bell Gardens' Academy Hall Theatre, 6653 E Carondelet Drive. Today is just a preview show and costs $10, regular shows are $12 - $18.

Here are a couple big holiday events in Tucson to plan for:

Tucson's Winterhaven Festival of Lights starts December 10th - make sure to read the schedule for walk thru and drive through only nights.

Tucson's Downtown Parade of Lights is on Saturday December 17th.  It is the spectator event of the year and lots of fun for children and adults alike!  And this plain old fire engine?  It's my neighbor's and this engine comes to life during the parade - decorated and lit up for all the kids to "oohhh and ahhh" over!

Good Morning Gabrielle! I like the information. Christmas is a really fun time of year. My family and I get out to Winterhaven each year, bring food and money for the Community Food Bank and have a great time walking around, being particularly careful of where we step of course. I have not done the Downtown Parade of Lights though.

Gabrielle, thank you for sharing these great Tucson "Christmas time" events!  This is an especially wonderful time of year and looks like the weather (at least for the next 3 days) is going to be a bit cold.  It will help to bring in the season.

As always, Tucson is the place to be this holiday season. I was in Phoenix for Thanksgiving and almost made the trek to Tucson to see, your success in person...
