One of the most respected artists in the new school of bluegrass, Sierra Hull has received five International Bluegrass Music Association nominations and is the first bluegrass musician to receive Berklee School of Music’s prestigious Presidential Scholarship. On "Daybreak," her sophomore effort (her debut "Secrets" was recorded at age 15) the Associated Press describes her sound as combining "the angelic voice of Alison Krauss with the fiery mandolin picking of Rhonda Vincent.” Don't miss this up-and-coming bluegrass sensation. 8 p.m. Reston Community Center's CentreStage.  $30/person ($15/residents).  For information call 703-476-4500.

This year's craft show will feature 80 fine American artisans from across the country as well as live holiday music to help you get into the holiday spirit. Celebrate Frying Pan Farm Park’s 50th Anniversary with holiday festivities at one of the most diverse parks in the county. Stroll the 1930s working farm and enjoy live music, watch equestrian demonstrations, visit the farm house and visit Santa for a photo. Bring the family to children’s holiday shopping at the Country Store. (12:30 to 3:30 p.m.) Wagon rides, warming fires, carolers and holiday photo stations add to the festive holiday atmosphere. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Frying Pan Farm Park. Free (some activities have fees). Treat yourself to a day of holiday fun at the Gardeners Holiday Open House. There’s a little something for everyone: botanical decorations, a toy train display, doll and nutcracker collections and a children’s puppet show by Blue Sky Puppets. Enjoy refreshments and find a wide selection of unique gifts in the gift shop. This festive day is suited for gardeners of all ages, individuals and families.
