You Don't Have To Be A "Straight A" Student....To Qualify For A Loan?

a Student

This morning my husband and I were having coffee (very rare occasion since we work such different schedules) just chit-chatting.  He asked me how things were going with a particular offer on one of my listings.  Unfortunately, my answer was...the buyers are having trouble with their financing

His response was...that's the trouble these days, you may have plenty of potential buyers, but unless they are "Straight A" Students they can't get a loan.  His analogy made me chuckle.  But after thinking about it I realized, this a BIG misconception that a LOT of people share.

Yes, lending institutions have tightened their belt on their guidelines.  But you don't have to be a Straight A Student to qualify for a loan.  This is the perfect example of why you should be working with a Realtor who can recommend you to a good lender.

1)  It may be easier than you think to qualify for a loan

2)  If you do have issues with your credit, a good lender will work with you to figure out what you may be able to do to get that credit score up.

3)  There may be other "Creative Financing" available, but a good lender can help you figure out what's best for you

When you are ready to find out if you qualify for a loan call me @ 256-366-6292.  I can recommend you to lenders who will work hard for you.  And when you are ready to find that dream home...I can help you with that too.  You can begin your search by visiting my website

Karen it is amazing that people can often improve their credit enough to be approved in just 3-6 months. Sometimes paying off an old small collection item or just paying everything current for several months can make enough difference to get them over the tipping point.

You're right, and I think a lot of people just assume they won't be able to qualify....so they don't try.

This is  OH SO TRUE and definitely something I plan to blog more about this month.  There are great tips and tools to help with no-to-perfect credit and many lenders (like me!) can even offer financing with a score under 600.
