Lori I'd love to attend, but even before my grandson was born on October 31st, my daughter asked me to babysit on Dec. 7th.  It's their Christmas Party.

Maybe some time after Jan. 1st we can have another get together!

Hey Karen.  Come on out girl!  You might get a great plane flight right now.  Write it off on your taxes.  I will pick you up at Sacto airport.. This could be too much fun! In fact, Kathy should come too.  And I'll be serving Cosmos :)

Diane... no worries. We will get together soon.  I am planning on driving down to L.A. over T-Day to visit my buddy MMinch.  Maybe we can hook up then :)

Lori, what a GREAT idea and thanks for being a catalyst for change and opening up our doors to all.  Having been a /staging Realtor for many years I am so used to the real estate industry getting more education on various topics throughout a real estate career.  We seldom take one class and think that we know it all, education is for everyone and ongoing as things change and sometimes the education we have or need changes too.  We have always held many designations and take different speakers on the same topic.  It puzzles me why stagers don't look at it that way too.  Education fills the gaps in our learning and benefits the client.  And, after all, the desigination or no designation training we get is bottom line to improve our service to the client.  We serve the client and we have a viable business.

Your meeting of "all" is a great start and needed in the industry.  We have serious challenges ahead as an industry and a true trade association and alliances with each other as ONE will truly help us all.  The bar will be raised through being together in this rather than drawing lines and separatist behaviors.  The outside world is watching us, and don't care what our designations are unless it affects their staging job.  We stand to gain so much as an industry as we will become a force in numbers, and a member driven organization can raise the standards for all of us in a public way so that we are legitimized in the court system as well as insurance, and most of all the Real Estate industry and the public.

How does all this relate to your Roundtable?  It starts with you and one more and one more and I thank you for your courage and forward thinking.  YOU are the future of the staging industry.  And, I await the outcome.

Hi Lori,

I hope to attend as part of the AR network and a Stager in the region.  Thanks for facilitating this for ALL of us in the region - it is the first of many, I am sure, and a great opportunity for US ALL to share and then offer to serve.

It is about US - Terrylynn - not just one person and the idea came from a collective group at SIF with Craig at the helm.  Those organizing the meetings deserve props for getting them going - but just because there is one that offers to facilitate does not mean others would not have done so or are not closely involved or care about what is happening.  We are not at war where people have to be brave and courageous - so IMHO I sign off using your words above with ONE significant change "WE are the future of the staging industry." - Jennie

Lori Kim: I am so sorry that we are having our respective area Roundtables on the same day. How did that happen? I guess great minds think alike. I would have liked to fly up for yours and have you fly down for our meeting here in the Los Angeles area.

I think that it is wonderful that you are pulling this together for your region, especially considering how busy you are and what you are giving up to do so. You are just a staging machine!

Jennie - all I can say is WOW!  Just read your blog about glass ceiling and I think you are too defensive...I was congratulating Lori for being the first in the area to host the Roundtable...just that.  You didn't need to pounce.  Down girl...
