This painting, my Christmas Card, is full of memories.
Some joyous. Some sad. That's life.
I painted this scene many years ago when my second son, Marty, was still a baby. Then, since we needed a rocking chair, my mother-in-law, who admired the painting a great deal, gifted us with a rocking chair for the baby in exchange for the painting. She kept it for many years and, when she passed on, left the painting to Marty, who gave it back to me. The painting has been hanging in my home now for a number of years. Marty met his maker 4 years ago after fighting cancer for 4 years. When I look at the painting, I always think warmly of my sweet son Marty. This painting has served as my Christmas card greeting for many, many years.
