Day after day this Real Estate Business beats you up. Nothing makes me get energized like a fresh new class of students starting their 75 hour pre-licensing class. No bad habits yet. No whining about a bad market. This is the first market they have. Its all good from here! Some days we should try to readjust our thinking and be new again. I would love to hear how other people do this. What gets you up and running every morning?
New agents are great, now can we just get rid of the ones that shouldn't be here. I am in real estate because it is my passion. I love everything about real estate. This is not some job that I thought I would try out. I want real estate to be part of my legacy. I don't want to be remembered for how much money I did or didnt make in real estate but for how many people I helped to buy or sell their home. This business is hard work but loving every bit of it keeps me going everyday.
Each day I try to run through my list of 'to-dos.' Some days its short but it takes all day to get it done (depending on delightful interruptions like e-mails and phone calls) and some days it seems like there is too much to do but it makes the day go by. Knowing that 'today might be my lucky day' always keeps my chin up!
I love what I do - and guess what I missed the "big boom market". The Navy and Marine Corps had other plans for my family so I had to leave the business for the past 3 years. I was in California and decided not to sell - worked in title/escrow instead. I knew what was happening in my market area and I just couldn't wait to get back. -Long story short "I missed it" - but you know what I have been here before - I started in 1994 when rates were 12% and I learned to work the right way. I will be fine :)
Thanks for the comments. Hey Jo Soss- thanks for your service! I run a program called Operation Home Free. I give my services for free to any returning Iraq Conflict veteran. You people did and continue to do a great job. Just got to say thanks again. Let me know if you would ever like to take one of my webinar classes. They may not be appropriate for California, but for you they tuition is waived.
A good strong cup of coffee does the trick for me.
