Facing Foreclosure

If You Think You Might Be Facing Foreclosure?

The worst thing to do if you are facing foreclosure is to be paralyzed by fear, instead talk to someone.   Don't let fear paralyze you, here's what you do if you think you might be facing foreclosure.

Below are 3 things I think you should do if you think you might be facing foreclosure:

  1. Contact your bank and ask about your options.

  2. Contact a Housing Counselor

  3. Contact a Realtor and discuss your options

I read today that Gwinnett County is the 4th largest county in the US for foreclosures.    Occupy Atlanta recently took over a home that was being foreclosed on and in the process they went through the community and found that there were six other neighbors who were also being foreclosed on.  Not one of these neighbors knew the other was being foreclosed on, I suppose that each neighbor was feeling ashamed and unsure of what to do.This makes me say what happened to our communities?  I remember growing up we had communities where we talked to our neighbors and may even have each other over, etc.   If you think you might be facing foreclosure talk to your friends and neighbors they might be able to point you to a Realtor or housing counselor.

If you are behind on your mortgage payments don't wait for the foreclosure notice to come before you do something.  This week I found out out about a family friend who was foreclosed on, but it was too late to help the home was foreclosed on 3 months ago but she never mentioned she was experiencing a hardship.  If you think you might be facing foreclosure CALL a REALTOR®  if you are in trouble, we can help!

We can tell you about the options you may have this does not mean you won't have to move, but wouldn't it be better to move on your terms rather than waiting to be put out?  Homeowners who make the decision to sell often feel a sense of relieve and they know that down the line they might be able to buy again.  Consider your options you may want to do a short sale, persue a loan modification or deed in lieu.

If you think you might be facing foreclosure call me to see what your options might be.  I want to help you and some mortgage companies offer programs that will provide money for you to move.  Don't be scammed by someone offering to guarantee a modification in return for a fee.
