During times like the ones our country is facing, it is easy to turn inward and wonder why these things are happening, and there are plenty of answers to that question. The one that is hard to answer is "Why is God letting this happen to us?" Or maybe it's a little more personal, "Why is God letting this happen to me?"
The premise of the question is flawed. The assumption is that when bad things happen somehow God is no longer involved in a good way in our lives. The truth is, God is always involved in our lives.
Don't misinterpret the silence of God as the inaction of God. There are times when you may not be able to hear the voice of God simply because He isn't speaking, but that doesn't mean He isn't working in your behalf.
A loving Heavenly Father, just like a healthy loving earthly father, is always working for the good of His children. When the time for new insight or an unveiling of His working is right, He will reveal His labors. Some circumstances need to be set in motion to get you to the place where He can assist you. During those quiet times, know that He is moving in your behalf because He loves you.
The video below is one of my favorite stories and a great illustration of the far reaching lengths a loving father will go to meet the needs of his children. Ricky Hoyt has cerebral palsy. One of his goals in life was to do an Ironman Triathlon. Impossible, you say. Think again.
