I was inspired by Christian Quiero's post I Will Work for Food. In case you have not read it, he decided to donate his home staging consultation time during the month of December in exchange for the client making a suitable contribution to the local food bank. I was intrigued by the idea. I'm already very familiar with the Maui Food Bank since I personally contribute to it, but I began to wonder what more I could do. After contacting the Maui Food Bank and gaining a better understanding of their needs I decided the best thing I could do was to help them get additional food or financial donations.

So, I decided to become a one-woman food drive, and "borrowing" Christian's idea, I am also going to work for food during the month of December. I will make this announcement at the weekly Real Estate Association of Maui Caravan meeting this morning. Then over the next few days I am going to distribute the flyers to all the Real Estate offices from North Kihei to Wailea.

I have been very blessed in my life and I would like to share my blessings. I believe that one person can make a difference, but one person working with a large group of people can make a major impact. I am committed that no one in Maui County is hungry during this Holiday Season. Here is my flyer: Will work for Food

That is an amazing idea. Starting with Christian, then you...I might like to hope on the idea as well. It is a perfect opportunity to do what we love and fulfill a desperate need at the same time. I don't know about you, but my business is generally very slow in December anyway, so it would be an excellent time of year to dedicate to charity. Not only is it a great service to the community, but what an incredible business marketing idea. I hope your efforts , benefit not only the underpriviledge in your community, but your business as well.

Hi Christi--Yes, hop on the bandwagon. I've already schedule two consultations since yesterday's announcement. Actually here it is high season. Lot's of homes come on the market now because visitors come from the mainland to escape the cold and many people will come for the entire winter season. I'm busy, but I can be busier for a good cause!

Hi Christi--4 people took me up on the offer. Not bad for this market where staging is still greatly misunderstood and ignored. I think Realtors were very impressed that I was doing this for the community.
