Christmas Cards

By
Real Estate Agent with Okanagan Desert Country Realty

One of my favourite things at this time of year is sending out Christmas cards.  I always add a personalized note to my clients, and add a comment that I think will be special to them....it's rather time consuming, but it sure helps to keep the referrals coming in, even when we start to slow down.  Since it a little slower at this time of year anyhow, I'm not really losing out on anything.  The only people that I mail the cards to are my out-of-twon clients, the rest I like to hand deliver, and it keeps me in front of my client.  Any thoughts?

Today, I had my secretary work on 750 calendars to mail to our past clients.  I do like to send cards to my personal sphere.  I thought about stopping the calendars a few years ago.  Mailed them out after Christmas and received a lot of complaints that I hadn't sent them sooner.  Even listed 5 homes this year from previous sales.  They always have my phone number handy.  Like your bike.  I have a Goldwing trike.  Maybe we should start a bike blog.

Lee,

Good job...I enjoy doing the same thing.  I do like personalizing each one.  Have a good Christmas.

Lee- My personal feeling is if we do not hand write them and make them personal.-then they are "generic' and will be tossed and never thought of again, Try this:

While you are working with them, remember to write down their kids name, the pets name maybe, notes from conversations-like where they are from etc, Even if they are future clients they will speak of family and personal things if you open the conversation-take notes.

This way when writing you can say" Hoping Molly and Jason are enjoying their new school. Time really has flown this fall. Are you going up to New Jersey for the Holidays or will you be spending it at the new home? Either way I hope you have a great time and please let me know if you need anyting- anytime....blah blah

isnt that more sincere?

I'm working on my Christmas cards myself too.  It does take extra time to hand write them but I too think it truly is worth it.  Love the purple bike by the way.  My boyfriend collects them...he's up to 16 now...one Harley, three Indians (48, 50 and 53) and several types of old four strokes.  Happy Holidays!
