This is the craziest thing I have heard. I was having trouble with one of the families cell phones. I worked fine and then in two days, we were having trouble.
We have Verizon and it works very well in my area.
Well, I stopped by and talked with the guys about the problem.
"Did you update your phone?" They asked me.
"Update my phone? What are you talking about?"
"You need to update you phone so that it recognizes new towers or changes in the old ones." They told me.
"NO. How do I do that?" as I handed him the phone.
"Just dial...*228."
The phone updated in 30 seconds or so and worked just fine.
Now, I don't know if this is true for all companies, but I know that it worked on my Verizon phone. I now update it every week, just because.
Check with you provider.
