Tis The Season… For Colds And Other Illnesses

Yes, we’re already knee deep in the season that brings great joy, laughter, fun, and dreadedwoman sick at work and blowing her nose colds! While there is no sure fire, “take a pill and poof it’s gone” cure for a cold, there are very simple, affordable, and completely natural ways to get cold relief.

All Natural Cold Remedy Available Everywhere!

We’ve all heard and known for years that sleep, lots of water, and vitamin C will help tremendously, and all of those things do work, and are an absolute must. However, several years ago, I found out about something that completely changed my life, my health, and my never ending cycle of colds, which led to sinus infections, which led to overuse of antibiotics. This incredible, and all natural cold remedy costs under $10 for a one month supply, is available in almost every drug store, pharmacy and retail establishment you’ll find, and you will immediately begin to feel relief of your cold symptoms! It’s called NeilMed Sinus Rinse.

What Is NeilMed Sinus Rinse?

NeilMed Sinus Rinse is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a sinus rinse kit that allows you to flush water deep into your sinus cavities, where bacteria can sit and hide for days or weeks. It also puts real moisture back into your nasal passages (not mucus) , that will give you an immediate sense of relief from your cold symptoms. In addition, some of the saline rinse will reach the back of your throat, so this will help to relieve sore throat pain, and reduce the probability of a hoarse voice.

The kit comes with a bottle and saline packets, in varying sizes. You can also purchase the saline packets separately, so you don’t have to purchase a full kit, with a new bottle, each time you run out of saline. The best deals I’ve seen were at Costco, where you can purchase a 2 bottle kit plus 250 saline packets for approximately $15, or a single bottle kit with 50 packets at Amazon.com, for $5.50 (at the time of publication).

How Does This Help To Relieve Cold Symptoms?

So, what is it that makes this so effective at relieving cold symptoms? The saline is the key, and only ingredient, used in this rinse. It’s benefits have been known for a long time, but are not pushed by the medical community for numerous reasons, including laws against claiming that you’ve found a “natural cure”, ignorance, a bias toward Western Medicine, and good ole greed!

The saline helps to restore moisture, which is necessary to fight bacteria. It also helps to reduce nasal passage swelling to naturally relieve congestion, as well as the sore throat relief mentioned above.

While this is not an immediate and overnight “cure” for the common cold, it will greatly reduce your cold symptoms, even after just the first use, so that you can continue on with your daily activities. It will also drastically reduce the length of your cold, if used as recommended, at least twice per day for as long as necessary.

Are There Any Negatives Or Drawbacks To Using NeilMed?

So here’s the deal, some of you may be a bit squeamish about the idea of putting something in your nostrils, but I promise you that it is SO worth it! And when you see what comes out of your nose, you’ll be amazed and grateful that it’s not still stuck in you ; )

I’ve given these NeilMed Sinus Rinse kits to many people, and while they’re admittedly reluctant to try it at first, they’ve all come back and thanked me for “the best thing” they’ve ever received! My entire family uses it as soon as they begin to feel something coming on (which is highly recommended), and even my kids have begun telling people about how great it is!

Since this cold relief remedy is all natural, you literally cannot harm yourself with it or use it too much, and it’s safe for children and adults.

Is This The Same Thing As A Neti Pot Or Saline Spray ?

When I tell people about NeilMed, many of them ask me, “so is this like the neti pot that Oprah had on her show?”. No, this is not the same thing. It’s similar, and shares the same basic idea and function of a neti pot, and NeilMed Pharmaceuticals also makes a neti pot. However, after using both, I can tell you that the standard NeilMed Sinus Rinse system works better; you’re done much faster, and you can flush your nasal passages out better with it.

Another question I get is, “can’t you just use the pre-made bottles of saline spray?”. The answer again is, “no”. Think of it this way, the pre-made saline spray bottles would be like using a garden hose, compared to the NeilMed saline bottle, which is more like a fireman’s hose. The saline spray does just that, it sprays, and not very well. The NeilMed bottle was designed to deliver more pressure and volume, and because you’re mixing the solution yourself, it’s always fresh and the water is warmed before use, which increases it’s effectiveness.

Gina, I agree completely -  this is a fantastic remedy.  It is also great for allergies. I did find that you can make your own saline mixture that works just as well.  I mixed up sodium chloride & sodium bicarbonate and add that to water. I wouldn't trade the bottle for anything else though.

Hi Gary- Yes, I love it for allergies as well! That's good to know about mixing the solution yourself, and I gues you could use a water pick for delivery??

Randy & Jenny~ HA- too funny! Yah, that would have been a good bait and switch, and a much shorter post ; ) It's SO true- when you have kids at home, it's nearly impossible to stay healthy year round. Aaaah, but we'll miss them when they're gone!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my post. It's always appreciated!!
