Good Things Come in Small PackagesSecret Recipe Revealed - Cheese Tarts

So you have been invited to a holiday gathering and asked to bring a desert?  Want one that will be quite easy to make but enjoyed by all?  The following recipe was a favorite growing up . . . rather like miniature cheesecakes.

Cheese Tarts

1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz.)

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup sugar

1 can cherry pie filling

Mix first four ingredients.  Put vanilla wafers on the bottom of "tea" size paper cupcake holders.  Put 1 Tbsp. mixture on top.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.  Cool.  Top each with pie filling.  Chill for a few hours.  Makes 24.

Thanks, Chris, for sharing another secret recipe.

We want to see the recipe for the cookies you will be leaving for Santa.

Colonial Williamsburg is a wonderful place to visit during the Christmas holidays.

This sounds like an easy winner to me. The cherry topping will give it a nice look. Thanks to Roy for the reblog.

Hi Gina - One of the best things about this recipe is its simplicity--for nice looking tasty treats!

Hi Roy - I am not sure if digging that deep into the secret family recipes will be allowed!  : )  I think Santa puts our house first on his list because of our cookies--I know Santa's cookies are first on my list!

Hi Debbie - Yes, cherry topping is quite festive.  Roy is great at reblogging, but he turned off the comments on this particular reblog so I will thank him here--THANKS ROY!

Hi Joan - It was a pot luck gathering that first brought this recipe to light in our household, so it will be perfect (be sure to send all the people asking for the recipe to this post).  : )

Great recipe Chris.  Thank you.

Thanks for the goldfinch photo too.  I have not seen any goldfinches at all this fall....I do not know what happened.  Something has scared them off.  I will keep the feeder out.  They may return with the first snow.

Hope all is well.

Gloria

Hi Gloria - The goldfinches sometimes disappear for a few weeks and then reappear.  Maybe there are certain times of the year when they find some "natural" treat that beats the bird feeders!
