The Ferndale Repertory Theatre will present its annual holiday matinee production for elementary schools on December 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 at the Ferndale Rep, 447 Main Street in Ferndale, California.
All performances are at 10am.
This year we will travel to Bavaria to meet Hansel and Gretel, their father and the old hag who wishes them all ill will.
However, the children are clever and manage to turn the tables on the old girl. Based on the Grimm fairy tale, Hansel & Gretel is the classic story with a couple of new twists—a jolly romp with a kindly father, an old hag with a “nasty disposition” and a brother and sister who argue like brother and sister, but love each other in spite of it.
Directed by Vicki Charlton, the cast includes Mario Lorenzo as Hansel, Marilyn McCormick as Gretel, Janet Waddell as Vulgaria, stepmother and old hag, and Charlie Beck as Yannek, the Narrator and Father. The play is written by Vikki Young, the sound design is by Jim Berry and set construction is by Jeremy Webb.
Tickets are $1.00 per person, adults as well as students.
Ferndale Repertory Theatre's youth programs are made possible through the generous support of the Bertha Russ Lytel Foundation.
